Day in Galilee

What a day we have had! We started out even earlier then yesterday and had an incredible full day, we just got back and I will try to share what we experienced today.
Just to be around the Sea of Galilee is so moving, to think how close we are to where most of Jesus ministry occurred is thrilling.
Our day started out with a hike, most did not realize when we started what a challenge it would be. The hike took about an hour and as they say, a picture says a thousand words.
The place we hiked is called Mount Arable. It is two cliffs leading down to the Sea of Galilee.

This is the mountain we climbed to the top of.
This is about 1/3 of the way up.
All the kids scampered up to another level. They loved exploring all the caves in the area. These were caves that Jews fled to to get away from the Romans.
Everyone of us climbed up these rocks, there was no other way to get up, down was not an option! All 35 of us made it. August did a great job of climbing, just think with his little legs the effort to scale them.
We then had a faith lesson at the ruins of an old synagogue.
Our next stop was a boat ride on the Sea of Galilee, what a thrill to be on the water where Jesus walked.
We were entertained by a Messianic Jew.
Then on to more hiking up to the Mount of the Beatitudes, David and Boaz gave us another faith lesson.
We visited the town of Capernaum, on the shores of the Sea of Galilee. This is where Peter's mother-in-law lived and where Jesus taught in the synagogue.

Our day ended on the peaceful shore of Galilee, where Jesus spoke to Peter, the kids had fun walking in the water (very cold) and finding seashells.

What a wonderful day, all I can say is "Thank you God!!"
